Caldarola (Macerata, Italy)

This impressive Le Marche rustico, or farmhouse, is spacious, has been lovingly restored and is ready to move in. The 210 sqm Italian House has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and is set in a lovely, totally unspoilt hilly landscape, a few hundred meters from the ancient little town of Caldarola. All materials used in the restoration are natural and in keeping with the age and style of this wonderful old property and were either original or locally sourced.

The history and setting of this Le Marche property

This Le Marche property was initially built in the first part of the 19th century and has robust walls that are up to 80cm thick but is also sunny and full of light. It is located in an open, independent position, with a south facing facade and a 2600 square meters landscaped garden that entirely surrounds it.

The layout and features of Casa Dante property

Like many many a Le Marche farmhouse, it has three floors. On the ground floor there is an enormous living room of over 40 sqm with four windows and a front door, it is full of light and a great space for entertaining. From this room, through an arched opening, one walks into another very large kitchen/dining room (over 30 sqm ) with four windows and a front door as well. Adjacent to the kitchen there is another room of 3,15 x 5,00 m. On the first floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom, large and sunny, is some 4 x 6 m, with a bathroom en suite.
There are two other good sized bedrooms (3,70 x 3,15 m. and 3,85 x 3,33 m.), one of which has a walk-in wardrobe. There is also a second bathroom on this floor (2,60 x 2,00 m.). From the north side of the house through an independent entrance one can access an impressive stone walled room with four windows, high ceiling with awesome beams and a nice bathroom en suite. This room, which in days gone by was a cow stall, has been semi-restored and could become a self contained flat or another large master bedroom. Its size is 5,00 x 8,40 m., while its bathroom is 4,50 x 1,30 m.
Casa Dante, which is entirely built and lined with local materials, still retains most of its old features: arches, niches, terracotta floors and window sills, wooden beams, some of the 19th C.doors, etc. All this gives it a sense of age, warmth, character and pleasant solidity .

Dante's House - The garden and view from this Le Marche Property

This Marche property nestles snugly in a beautiful little valley, totally rural, with olive tree groves, oak lined roads and farmland covering rolling hills as far as the eye can see. From the house you can see the dramatic Sibillini Mountains in the distance, which are part of the Appennini range, the backbone of Central Italy. The 2600 square meters garden that surrounds the house was created in 2004 when some 40 mature trees were planted: olive trees, 5 types of fruit trees, cypresses, wisteria, pomegranates, horse-chestnuts, weeping-willows etc. and a surrounding hedge with three types of bush. Of course some mature trees were already there, including a majestic 200 years old oak and a beautiful olive tree, over 100 years old. This Le Marche Property is lovely all year round and at all times, day and night. Come and see for yourself.

Communications and the position of this Italian property
